Importance of the public speaking and for leadership

Today’s youths are our upcoming future. According to Merriam Webster youth is especially the period between childhood and maturity, and leadership is the act or instance of leading. According to most studies, people’s number one fear is public speaking. Merriam-Webster states that the art of effective oral communication with an audience. In simple words, public speaking is an act of performing a speech to a live audience, commonly speaking face-to-face to a single person or to a group of listeners.

Public speaking and leadership are significant which is equated to youths. Leadership is taking a tremendous role in a youth’s life, which is very essential for them. Public speaking allows an individual to form connections, influence decisions, and motivate change, which is public speaking the most important and most dreaded form of communication.

As stated, gloss phobia (speech anxiety), is the most common fear that people have all across the world. A student who sits in the back of the class nodding head every time the teacher looks at him and avoiding raising his/her hand to ask a question is a common fear. But public speaking is an indispensable skill to sharpen it, which affects everyday life. Of all this, youth leadership is an incredible need for today’s youth worldwide.

As reported by the Population Reference Bureau, among 2.3 billion people in this world, 1.2 billion of them are youths (15-24 ages). Half of the world’s population is 24 or below. They have the key to driving a country’s future in the right direction for which youth leadership and public speaking is very important.

Youth leadership would start with the self. Self-development is the first step of a leader’s ambition. A most remarkable outcome of public speaking is overcoming the fear. Fear is the most significant cause of anxiety and nervousness, which it comes to public speaking. The vast improvement in communication skills can be seen in an individual who takes public speaking classes. Good speakers are mostly experienced in influencing people. The way they communicate and win people, hearts, are improbable. Gaining communication skill will allow a leader to inspire others.

One of the famous programs for leadership is “Toastmasters International ” which is worldwide. Toastmasters International is a US headquartered nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of promoting communication and public speaking skills.

The Youth Leadership Program is just like Toastmasters International, but this program is for fewer than 18 kids. Programs like youth leadership greatly contribute to the positive development of youth’s people and to make their communities a better place to live.

This generation of Nepali people can help develop the country and worldwide is doing campaigns to help enrich the whole community. Not only were we able to build a society with Nepali but also with the combination of Indians but also Asians.

Leadership skills can be developed from an early age are much more talented and had experienced being a leader. Socially and emotionally youths who participate in such programs demonstrate leadership qualities.
