The Institute of Foreign Affairs Studies, which has been stagnating for a long time without an executive head, has got a new leadership. Former ambassador Prakash Kumar Subedi has been appointed as the executive director of the Institute of Foreign Affairs Studies, which has been developed as a diplomatic think tank of Nepal.

It is said that Subedi has been appointed as Executive Director by the Council of Ministers. Subedi, who started his service as an officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is the 10th executive director of the institute.  Subedi, who retired two years ago, was also working as a permanent representative for the United Nations Mission of Nepal in Vienna. The institute established in the year 2050 to provide study, research and training in the diplomatic affairs of Nepal has not always been operational due to political interference.
